About Us

Founded in 1945, the Shippensburg Historical Society is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. We are volunteers with an interest in the history and culture of our area.

The Society owns and operates the Shippensburg History Center, a local museum and research facility open to the public. The Center is staffed by a part-time museum director and a team of volunteers.
